1. In the antennal lobe of the male Bombyx mori, 39 glomeruli of approximately 60 glomeruli were constantly identified. 2. There was variability among individuals in the number of glomeruli observed. This variability could be evaluated to a maximum of 8 glomeruli in one antennal lobe. 3. A detailed analysis of thin branches of local interneurons showed that one synaptic branch has synapses in up to 5 different glomeruli. 4. Most local interneurons seem to have a single synaptic branch in a few specific glomerular groups.
