Registration of intracerebral area to standard brain

By aligning the segmented brain regions (module structure) with the standard brain, you can show the positional relationship in the whole brain. This work is called registration. Registration can be done by setting the corresponding feature points in the segmented brain image and standard brain image as landmark points and adjusting this point locations as a reference.

Let's try registering the glomerule of the previously created antennal lobes into the standard brain. The data to use is in the ALregist folder. First, activate Fiji, load the segmented antennal lobe data (ALsample1Seg.nii.gz), save it as File → Save As → Tiff. Let's read the ALsample1Seg.tif already saved in the tif format. Click Plugins → Landmarks → Name Landmarks and register to display the Landmark setting screen. At this time, if there is a landmark information file (ALsample1Seg. points) of the image data, ALsample1Seg.tif, this information is also automatically loaded. Then, also load the standard brain image file (SBimageF.tif). Click on the window displaying this image to make it active, then similarly click Plugins → Landmarks → Name Landmarks and Register in order to load landmark information (SBimageF.points) for the standard brain image file.

The image contrast can be adjusted with Image → Adjust → Color Balance. Click Choose in the landmark setting window of ALsample1Seg.tif, and set Template to the standard brain (SBimageF.tif), check Overlay result. Click on Thin-Plate Spline Registration to execute registration and display overlapping the result of registration on the standard brain image. The registration result can be saved by File → Save As → Tiff. In the data archive, this is saved as overlaiedAL.tif. Also, the result of registering without overwriting is saved as transformedAL.tif.
